Instructor’s Insight: Backsiding Cones

Backsiding Cones
One concept that comes up on nearly every course walk is backsiding certain cones. We most often use this technique to maximize speed on corner exit and to stay ahead of the course in a slalom. It’s an essential skill to develop if you want to be consistently fast.
However, not every cone should be backsided. This concept is easier to understand with pictures, so I’ve included a couple of diagrams along with a great video explanation.
